Plot summary
Gary Wallace and Wyatt Donnelly are unpopular students at Shermer High School, and the senior jocks Ian and Max humiliate them for swooning over the cheerleaders Deb and Hilly. Gary is convinced that a boost in popularity would win the girls away from Ian and Max, and with Wyatt's parents away for the weekend the two of them are alone in the house. Inspired by the 1931 film Frankenstein, Gary sets out to create a woman on Wyatt's computer, tapping a government computer system for the power the job needs. Lisa appears, a beautiful and intelligent woman who can alter reality, and she conjures a pink Cadillac convertible and fake IDs to take the pair to a blues bar in Chicago. Her aim is to put them in situations that demand they act like men.

- Vernon Wells reprises his memorable biker character Wez from Mad Max 2 in this film, but is credited in this movie under a different name, as "Lord General".
- The film incorporated clips of Dr. Frankenstein and his monster, played by Colin Clive and Boris Karloff, taken from the films Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein, and a clip of David Lee Roth taken from the music video for his recording of "Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody".
- Model Kelly Emberg was initially cast as Lisa, but left after two days due to creative differences, and LeBrock was hired as her replacement.
- A television series based on the film ran for 88 episodes, from 1994 to 1998. Following the same basic plot as the film, the series stars Vanessa Angel as Lisa, Michael Manasseri as Wyatt, John Mallory Asher as Gary, and Lee Tergesen as Chet.
