Plot summary
In 1886, Sir Lionel Frost studies mythical creatures, hoping the Society of Great Men will finally admit him. Its leader, his rival Lord Piggot-Dunceby, agrees that proof of a real creature would earn Lionel a place. A letter points Lionel to the Pacific Northwest, where he finds the Sasquatch who wrote it. Mr. Link asks Lionel to help him find his relatives, the Yetis, who live in the Himalayas. Lionel agrees, not knowing that Lord Piggot-Dunceby has hired a bounty hunter, Willard Stenk, to track and kill him. A map to the Himalayas is locked in a safe at the house of Adelina Fortnight, an adventurer Lionel once knew in Santa Ana, California, and she has no wish to help him.
