Jack Blessing

Biography

Born and raised in Baltimore, Jack Blessing was an American film and television actor who started his career in Boston with the improvisational group The Proposition. A Paramount casting director noticed him during his final year there, and he went on to appear in The Defection of Simas Kudirka, an Emmy-winning television movie from 1978. He gained wide recognition in 1986 for playing MacGillicuddy on Moonlighting, and he took a recurring part as Mr. Donner on The Naked Truth. He played Jack Powers in the sitcom George Lopez across 25 episodes from 2002 until the series ended in 2007. His guest work included The X-Files, NYPD Blue, Judging Amy, Murder One, Home Improvement and Everybody Loves Raymond, and he played Jarvis in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Other credits were Shrek the Third, Megamind (2010) and ParaNorman (2012).
