Plot summary
On the Galápagos Islands in 1835, the flummels Op and Ed live as outcasts, and their community blames Op whenever something goes wrong. A flower carries the two of them to Shanghai in the present day. There a white poodle named Clarance befriends them, and they learn that their species has died out. Clarance takes them to the Time Terminal, where his owner, Dr. Lee Chung, had studied the flowers and their seeds, which allow travel through time. Op knocks some seeds loose, the Terminal breaks down, and the seed that could guide the flummels home disappears with Clarance, who lands in Antarctica in 1915. Joining the Extinctables, a group of extinct animals, Op and Ed set off through the seeds to find their way back and reach him.
