Jim Jefferies

The Australian performer Jim Jefferies works as a stand-up comic, actor and writer. He started in comedy after dropping out of university, first in Sydney and then in Britain, and briefly used his birth name before settling on his stage name. His early sets relied on one-liners, which he later replaced with longer anecdotal routines. I Swear to God (2009), his debut HBO special, helped introduce him to American audiences. Legit, the FX sitcom he created and starred in, ran from 2013 to 2014, and he created and hosted Comedy Central's The Jim Jefferies Show from 2017 to 2019. He also began hosting The 1% Club in 2023. His stand-up specials include Freedumb (2016) and This Is Me Now (2018), and he starred in Me and My Mates vs the Zombie Apocalypse (2015), an Australian movie. In 2019, Just for Laughs honored him as Stand-up Comedian of the Year.
