Plot summary
The Devil runs a computer simulation that scours souls for weaknesses to exploit, and it settles on Elliot Richards, a geeky employee at a San Francisco computer company. His co-workers avoid him and he lacks the nerve to ask out his colleague Alison Gardner. Ditched at a bar one evening, he says he would give anything for her to be with him. A gorgeous woman overhears, introduces herself as the Devil and offers seven wishes in return for his soul. A test wish for fast food comes with a catch. Elliot signs the contract at her nightclub office in Oakland, and each wish he makes places him and Alison in a new life, with something he did not ask for added.
