Plot summary
Rachel and Heck, friends and lovers for years, marry while Rachel's mother Tess runs the arrangements and her father Ned and younger sister Henrietta, nicknamed H, look on. Luce, who runs a flower shop, is a guest; Henrietta grows fond of her at once and asks that Luce sit beside her. At the reception Luce introduces herself to Rachel, and together they fish Rachel's wedding ring out of the punch bowl. Rachel invites Luce to dinner, intending to set her up with Heck's friend Cooper, and Heck tells Rachel that Luce is a lesbian. Luce believes love arrives at first sight; Rachel holds that it takes time. Rachel, newly married to Heck, is drawn to Luce and begins to question her sexuality.

- Writer and director Parker revealed on the DVD audio commentary that the film was originally titled Click, after the French term for love at first sight, but conflicts with the 2006 Adam Sandler film Click necessitated the name change.
- The critical response from gay-friendly sites was extremely positive: Autostraddle ranked the film at 15 on its list of the 100 best lesbian films of all time, and Luce and Rachel were both included on AfterEllen.com's "Top 50 Lesbian and Bisexual Characters" list.
- The film opened in only 106 theaters in the United States on 27 January 2006 and made US$51,907 in its opening weekend, staying eight weeks and taking US$672,243 in total.
