Plot summary
Anna Brady works as a real estate stager in Boston and has dated Jeremy Sloane, a cardiologist, for four years without a proposal. Her father, Jack, tells her about an Irish tradition called Bachelor's Day that lets a woman propose to a man on February 29. Anna decides to fly to Dublin, where Jeremy is attending a conference, and ask him there. A storm diverts her plane to Cardiff in Wales, and a boat across the Irish Sea puts her ashore in the village of Dingle. She offers Declan O'Callaghan, who runs the local pub, money to drive her to Dublin, and he agrees to take her for five hundred euros because his pub faces foreclosure.
