Plot summary
Tanner Tarlton is the daughter of affluent Americans Linda and Peter Tarlton, and the strained relationship of her parents and their expectations leave her feeling stifled. She spends a summer in Europe making a documentary that explores people's attitudes toward love, traveling from place to place and interviewing various individuals about their own experiences with it. In Spain she meets Christian Santiago, a young man from a different culture, passionate and introspective. Both trace their skepticism about love to their families and to their own experiences, and despite their initial differences, the two find common ground in what they think about love.
