Plot summary
Luke Collins rides bulls on the professional circuit. Sophia Danko studies art at Wake Forest University. She goes to a bull riding event, where she and Luke meet. On the drive home from their first date, they come upon a car crash in the woods and pull an elderly man, Ira Levinson, from the wreckage, along with a box of letters. Sophia visits Ira in the hospital. He explains that the letters are ones he wrote as a teenager to Ruth, his late wife. Sophia offers to read them aloud to him, and the letters recount how he and Ruth met and fell in love in 1940.
