Plot summary
Grizzly, Panda, and Ice Bear live together in the San Francisco Bay Area. Racing to be first in line when a Canadian poutine truck opens, the brothers leave havoc behind them, and the residents' complaints pile up. Envious of the admiration the celebrity koala Nom Nom receives, they plan a viral video that blacks out every screen in the city. Summoned to City Hall to explain themselves, the brothers face a public demanding they be held accountable. Officer Murphy refuses to endorse severe punishment, but wildlife control agent Trout takes over the assembly and persuades it to detain the brothers and relocate them to a wildlife reserve.

Series writers Mikey Heller and Kris Mukai drew on the 2018 California wildfires and the Trump administration's family separation policy, which led them to make a family being separated the film's central theme and to write a forest fire into its climax; Chong felt such topics were unfit for the children's TV series.- Series creator Daniel Chong and his team had to make the film while simultaneously finishing episodes of the television series, a double workload that took over several months.
- Chong said the film's original treatment centered on all three Bears, but its core was shifted to Grizz to balance the heavy themes, and the opening meeting scene was rewritten to focus on Grizz, the eldest brother.
- A Fleetwood Mac cover, "Everywhere", sung by German musician Roosevelt in 2019, plays over the film's ending credits but is not on the soundtrack release.
