Plot summary
Wizard Kaldorf banishes the witch Drizelda from the village for her crimes, but her niece Athena is allowed to stay. The elf villagers distrust Athena: she keeps Jerry the mouse as a pet and is fond of Tom the cat, and they fear she will grow up like her aunt. Tom and Jerry chase each other through the village while Athena tends to injured animals. The three come across a glowing egg in the forest, stolen from a huge fire-breathing dragon, and out of it hatches a baby dragon named Puffy. Puffy takes Tom for his mother, and the three care for him. Puffy's real mother wants her baby back, and Drizelda has her own reasons to want the little dragon.
