Thomas Webb has moved out of his family's apartment on the Upper West Side and now lives on the Lower East Side, where he spends his time with his neighbor W.F. One evening in a bar with Mimi, Thomas sees his father, the publisher Ethan Webb, kissing a woman he does not know. She is Johanna, an editor who works with Ethan.
