Anh Duong

Anh Duong is a painter and actress from France who also worked as a fashion model. Born in Bordeaux, she took up classical dance in Paris before David Seidner put her in front of the camera, and she went on to walk for designers including Christian Dior, Donna Karan and Karl Lagerfeld. She settled in New York City in 1988 to concentrate on acting and art. Her first feature role came in 1992 with The Mambo Kings, and her screen credits include I Shot Andy Warhol, Lisa Cholodenko's High Art (1998) and two films by Laetitia Masson, For Sale and Love Me. She played the mother of the main character in Desiree Akhavan's Appropriate Behavior. As a painter, she had a solo show at Sperone Westwater Gallery in 1991 and her first museum exhibition in Ostende in 1997, and in 2011 she received the Veuve Clicquot Tribute to Inspiring Women Award.
