Plot summary
Roberto Aguilar, a poor father of two in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, accepts a modeling offer for his young children, Rocío and Miguel, from a woman named Giselle. He takes them to a photoshoot, and when he returns for them, they are gone, sold for sex. In Calexico, California, Tim Ballard works for Homeland Security Investigations, arresting people who traffic in child pornography. Another agent, Chris, points out that arrests and prosecutions have not stopped the trade. Ballard gains the trust of a suspect, Ernst Oshinsky, by posing as a like-minded man who quotes from Oshinsky's novel, and the meeting he arranges leads to an arrest. Ballard then recovers Miguel, who tells him his sister Rocío is still missing and asks him to find her.

- Tim Ballard, the real-life agent the film is based on, personally requested that Jim Caviezel play him after being impressed by Caviezel's performance as Edmond Dantes in The Count of Monte Cristo.
