Plot summary
On the aliens' homeworld, evolution split the race in two: one half became violent criminals driven by pleasure, the other half grew beyond physical bodies and became beings of pure energy. The criminal that came to Earth is dead, but its eggs are hatching. Alhague, one of the energy beings, has stayed inside the body of Tom Beck, waiting for the eggs to hatch, and that presence has drained the body of life energy. Beck's daughter Juliet now works as a cop, and her relations with him have worsened. When the killing begins again, she and Alhague must work together, and with MacLachlan, an alien policeman sent to Earth to help, to stop the new generation.
