Plot summary
When a glowing object streaks toward the ground, student David Harmon is nearly struck as it lands in the forest ahead of him, and he calls his old teacher, Dr. William Tracy, about a possible landing. Hours later, a couple goes down into their basement and finds a green humanoid alien. Joe Montague, angry with his daughter Carol, takes a gun and pursues her into the woods. After meeting the alien and picking up the space ball that powers its weapon, Joe is urged by Frank Custer to hunt the creature for a reward, and locals join in, hoping to cash in.
