Plot summary
Joe Flood works as a hitman, and during a job at a dance performance in Budapest he helps a dancer, Maize Arnaud, get out of the chaos unharmed. He returns the phone she lost at her studio, and the two become close, though he keeps his profession from her. Headaches send him to a doctor, who tells him he has Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and about three months to live. Joe asks his friend and handler Zvi Rabinowitz to arrange a contract on his own life so Maize can claim the insurance, but Zvi refuses. Another handler, Marianna Antoinette, accepts the contract, and the hit is set to take effect at midnight. Joe breaks up with Maize and leaves her a drunken voice message about his diagnosis.

- Shooting began in Budapest in July 2023 while the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike was on: the production had been granted an interim agreement waiver allowing it to go ahead.
- STXfilms hired D. J. Caruso to direct and Jason Statham to lead the film in February 2018; by April 2019 Statham had exited and Dave Bautista replaced him, with Ice Cube joining the cast that June.
- Wesley Snipes was courted to star in the film by July 2002, and production was expected to begin that fall.
