Plot summary
Wellington-on-Sea is a seaside town where the lighthouse keeper, Bill, organizes the Christmas preparations. Danny Williams is a shy new boy whose parents are divorcing, and Sam and Charlie Beccles are twin sisters. Bernadette McNutt, a local girl, wants the holiday done differently, and her version of the school Christmas play does not please many parents. Danny nearly misses his cue while watching Sam, and his mother leaves for work straight after the show. Then a blizzard closes the school and leaves the town snowed in, with the children spending Christmas Eve together. The storm reaches Santa Claus too, on his rounds with his talking reindeer Dasher.
