Katherine Parkinson

Katherine Parkinson is an English actress who trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Born in Hounslow, West London, she grew up in Tolworth and Surbiton, studied classics at Oxford, and left LAMDA before graduating to appear in The Age of Consent at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2001. She played Pauline Lamb in Doc Martin from 2005 to 2009, then became known as Jen Barber in The IT Crowd, winning the BAFTA TV Award for Best Female Comedy Performance in 2014. Her stage work includes The Seagull, Cock, and Home, I'm Darling, which brought an Olivier Award nomination. On screen she has appeared in The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (2018), Radioactive (2020), and The Nan Movie (2022). She also starred in Humans from 2015 to 2018, wrote the play Sitting, and won a second BAFTA TV Comedy Award for Here We Go.
