Plot summary
After the Terror Wars, governments dissolved and eight megacorporations divided the territories, with North America held by the strongest, the Tekken Corporation, which stages the yearly Iron Fist tournament. Jin Kazama grows up in the Anvil, the slum that surrounds Tekken City, trained by his mother, Jun, who never speaks of his father and says he is dead. He earns money running contraband for resistance groups that fight the corporation, which she disapproves of. He wants to fight in Iron Fist to bring in a better income, and she forbids it, saying the tournament stands for what ignited the wars. One night after a run, the Jackhammers, the elite patrol of the Anvil, come for him, and Jun is killed. In the ruins of their home he finds a Tekken Fighter I.D. in her name.
