Plot summary
Ace lives in Harlem with his mother and his sister Dora, and he earns his money at a dry cleaning store. Dora's boyfriend Calvin sells cocaine, and Ace's close friend Mitch deals as well; both of them talk up easy money, fancy cars and women. Ace stays on the lawful side. One day a customer's pants yield a stash of cocaine; that customer, Lulu, supplies the drug and lets Ace keep what he found. Calvin is picked up on drug charges, so Ace takes the cocaine to one of Calvin's buyers and gets $100 for it. He returns to Lulu for more, sells her top-quality product cheaply on the street, draws customers away from other dealers, and begins wholesaling to dealers around the neighborhood.
