Plot summary
The Ghost of Christmas Present works with Jacob Marley and with the Ghosts of Christmas Past and Yet-to-Come; the team redeems one soul each Christmas. Present has been eligible to retire for decades, which would send him back to life on Earth, and he keeps turning it down. The spirits settle on Clint Briggs, a manipulative media consultant. Marley says Clint cannot be redeemed; Present argues that changing him could have a ripple effect. The team researches Clint for a year. At his office, Clint pushes his niece Wren, who is campaigning for class president, to share an unflattering clip of her rival Josh. Kimberly Parks, his executive vice president, is uneasy about the clip she dug up on his orders and considers quitting. She can see Present, and he is drawn to her.
