Trailer

Plot summary

Centuries of war between humans and vampires left the planet's surface devastated, and the Church rules over the walled cities where people shelter. The Warrior Priests who fought the vampires were set aside once the fighting stopped, and they struggle to fit into city life. One of them learns that vampires killed his sister-in-law Shannon and mortally wounded his brother Owen, and that they have taken his niece Lucy. Hicks, the sheriff of the free town Augustine, loves Lucy and asks the Priest for help. The Clergy refuses to restore his authority, so he leaves the city and travels with Hicks toward the vampire reservations, where humans called Familiars serve the hives.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Priest (2011)

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.

  • Tokyopop flew Min-Woo Hyung to where production was taking place so the comics' creator could visit the art department and discuss the film with Stewart.
  • Since the vampires were intended to move quickly, they were fully computer-generated for the film. While vampires are harmed by sunlight in most lore, the film's vampires are instead photosensitive, being albino cave-dwellers.
  • Priest was the most expensive production from Screen Gems to that date, and as of 2018 it was still tied for third-most expensive, behind only Underworld: Awakening and Resident Evil: Retribution.
