Stephen Macht

Biography

Stephen Macht is an American actor who was signed by Universal Studios after a talent scout saw him at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Canada in 1975, and he left his teaching posts at Smith College and Queens College for frequent work in television and film. Raid on Entebbe (1976) cast him as Yoni Netanyahu, and he went on to roles in The Choirboys (1977), Nightwing (1979), Galaxina (1980), The Mountain Men (1980), The Last Winter (1983), The Monster Squad (1987), Graveyard Shift (1990), Amityville: It's About Time (1992) and Watchers Reborn (1998), plus three installments of the Trancers series. On television he was Joe Cooper on Knots Landing, David Keeler on Cagney & Lacey across three seasons, and Trevor Lansing on General Hospital, a role that brought him a Best Villain nomination from Soap Opera Digest for 2007. He also directed during his Cagney & Lacey run.
