Stan Shaw

Stan Shaw is an American actor who came to screen work from the Broadway stage, having performed in musicals such as Hair and Via Galactica before making his film debut in 1974 with Truck Turner and TNT Jackson. He became a familiar face in sports and action dramas, playing a rival boxer in Rocky (1976) and a ballplayer in The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings (1976), then taking roles in The Boys in Company C (1978) and The Great Santini (1979). Television work included the miniseries Roots: The Next Generations and the CBS legal drama The Mississippi, and he won NAACP Theatre Awards for his stage performance in Samm-Art Williams's play Home. Later films include Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), Rising Sun (1993), Cutthroat Island (1995), Daylight (1996) and Snake Eyes (1998), and he returned to the screen in Jeepers Creepers 3 (2017) and The Pale Door (2020), with a recurring role on Chicago Med in 2023.
