His oldest friend, Navy Commander Kevin Dunne, is escorting Defense Secretary Charles Kirkland and arena director Gilbert Powell after a trip to Norfolk, Virginia. Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Snake Eyes (1998)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Al Pacino turned down the role of Commander Kevin Dunne, after which Will Smith was cast but dropped out over money; Smith made Enemy of the State instead.
- Snake Eyes originally ended with a huge visual-effects tidal wave crashing through the casino; that sequence was scrapped and reshot, though storm references and a drowning line survive in the finished film as leftover clues to it.
- After commentator Charlie Kirk was assassinated in 2025, social media users spread a viral 'predictive programming' theory linking it to the film's fictional killing of Charles Kirkland; fact-checkers debunked it partly by noting the film's assassination is dated to September 19, not September 10 as some claimed.
