Plot summary
Franklin Franklin is a hairless, overweight eccentric and a compulsive hoarder who thinks constantly about Switzerland. He goes about in nothing but his underwear and socks that do not match. He lives on Moxie soda and pickles with mustard. His almost-bare apartment sits in a rundown Southern California building complex shared with other eccentrics: Tommy Balls, a cynical marijuana user; Mr. Allspice, a neurotic geriatric recluse; and Simone, an aspiring dancer who lives with her mother. When his landlord, Mr. Olivetti, dies by accident, Franklin tries to hide the body.
