Len Lesser
Biography
Len Lesser was an American actor and comedian who built a long career as a character player in movies, on television, and on the stage. He grew up in New York City and finished his studies at City College of New York in 1942. From 1955 he turned up regularly on television, taking guest parts on shows including The Untouchables, Gunsmoke, Get Smart, and The Rockford Files. He became known to a wide audience as Uncle Leo, the uncle of Jerry Seinfeld on Seinfeld, and later played Garvin on Everybody Loves Raymond. Among his films were Kelly's Heroes (1970), Blood and Lace (1971), Truck Stop Women (1974), The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976), Ruby (1977), Death Hunt (1981), Grandmother's House (1988), and Baadasssss! (2003). He acted on stage in Cold Storage. He died in 2011.
