Kent Taylor

Kent Taylor was an American actor who worked in film and television, accumulating over 110 screen credits, many of them B movies from the 1930s and 1940s. Born Louis William Weiss in Nashua, Iowa, he moved to California in 1931 and, with no acting experience, began as a film extra before Paramount signed him that year. At Paramount he was frequently paired with Evelyn Venable. His films included Merrily We Go to Hell (1932), I'm No Angel (1933), and Death Takes a Holiday (1934). After moving to Universal in 1936, he played a daredevil stuntman in I'm Still Alive during the 1940s. On television he headlined 58 episodes of Boston Blackie and led The Rough Riders from 1958 to 1959. His later career turned to low-budget horror and science fiction, such as The Day Mars Invaded Earth (1963), Brides of Blood (1968), Satan's Sadists (1969), and The Mighty Gorga (1969). Taylor died in 1987.
