Jason Watkins
Biography
An English actor born in Albrighton, Shropshire, Jason Watkins trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 1985 before joining the National Theatre company. His stage work includes an Olivier Award nomination in 2001 for Best Supporting Actor in A Servant for Two Masters. On television, he made his first appearance in 1987 on EastEnders and went on to play such roles as the head vampire William Herrick in Being Human, store manager Gavin in Trollied, Simon Harwood in W1A, Prime Minister Harold Wilson in the third season of The Crown, and DS Dodds in McDonald & Dodds. His leading role in The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies earned him the BAFTA TV Award for Best Actor. His film credits include High Hopes (1988), Confetti (2006), Wild Child (2008), and the first three Nativity movies, in which he played Gordon Shakespeare.
