Biography
Hulk Hogan was an American professional wrestler who also worked as a media personality. Born in Augusta, Georgia, in 1953 as Terry Gene Bollea, he began training with Championship Wrestling from Florida in 1977 and joined the WWF in 1983, becoming a global star. His all-American image helped fuel the decade's wrestling boom. He topped the card at eight of the first nine WrestleMania events and won six WWF/WWE Championships, the first reign lasting 1,474 days. He was the first man to win consecutive Royal Rumbles, in 1990 and then 1991. Signing with WCW in 1994, he took its world heavyweight title six times and, as the villainous Hollywood Hogan, led the New World Order. He returned to the WWF in 2002 for a sixth world championship reign and was a 2005 inductee of the WWE Hall of Fame. He appeared in Suburban Commando (1991), No Holds Barred (1989), and Rocky III (1982), and starred in Thunder in Paradise.

Hogan made his professional wrestling debut on August 10, 1977, in a match booked by CWF promoter Eddie Graham against Brian Blair in Fort Myers, Florida.

By defeating Antonio Inoki by knockout on June 2, 1983, Hogan became the first holder of the original IWGP Heavyweight Championship and won the inaugural International Wrestling Grand Prix tournament.
