Plot summary
A documentary examines how the United States views anabolic steroids and the drive to be the biggest, strongest and fastest. At its center are Mark and Mike Bell, brothers who grew up idolizing Arnold Schwarzenegger, Hulk Hogan and Sylvester Stallone and who used steroids themselves. Their brother broadens the inquiry to professional athletes, medical experts, gym members and members of Congress. The film questions the inconsistency in how the country treats drugs and cheating, looking at a golfer's laser eye surgery, musicians' blood pressure medication and athletes' reliance on cortisone shots, a legal steroid. It also challenges the health risks attributed to steroids and criticizes the legal health supplement industry.
