Biography

Clinton Sundberg was an American actor known for supporting roles in movies and on the stage. He was born in Appleton, Minnesota, and graduated from Hamline University in St. Paul, where he took part in drama. He left teaching English literature for acting, first in stock theater in New England. He made his Broadway debut in Nine Pine Street in 1933. His stage credits included Mr. Kraler in The Diary of Anne Frank when it first ran in 1957 and a replacement turn as Mortimer Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace. Under contract at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, he played many supporting parts in late 1940s and early 1950s films. He was Mike the bartender in Easter Parade (1948), a friendly co-worker in In the Good Old Summertime (1949), and the hotel owner in Annie Get Your Gun (1950). He later appeared on television and in commercials.
