Plot summary
A retirement rule at Acme Printing ends the career of John R. Hodges, a skilled printer of 65. Retirement does not suit him: his family has little patience for him at home, and the pastimes set aside for the aged hold no appeal. So Hodges dyes his hair and beard black, presents himself as Harold P. Cleveland, president of the corporation that owns Acme, and arrives for an inspection tour of the plant, intending to press the company about its treatment of older workers. The firm's executives trail their supposed visitor through the plant, mystified, and Joe Elliott, the boyfriend of Hodges' granddaughter Alice, works among them.
