Biography

Candy Clark is an American actress and model who grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and got her start on television, playing Andrea Martin in a 1972 episode of Room 222 before taking the role of Faye Murdock in John Huston's Fat City (1972). She is best known as Debbie Dunham in American Graffiti (1973), a performance that earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, and as Mary-Lou in The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976). Her film work also includes The Big Sleep (1978), More American Graffiti (1979), Q (1982), Blue Thunder (1983), Amityville 3-D (1983), Cat's Eye (1985), At Close Range (1986) and The Blob (1988), plus a small part as Joyce in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992). She has made guest appearances on many television series, acted in a Berlin stage production of Images of Louise Brooks in 2011, and published a 2025 memoir, Tight Heads.
