Plot summary
Les Bingham and Katie Bingham have already split up once, and their second attempt at marriage is going badly. Neither is content in their New York apartment's bedroom: Les finds Katie too cold, and Katie finds him too fast. Lou Springer, a lawyer whose opinion the couple weigh, also has a romantic interest in Katie. Their neighbor Jackie Martin gives Les a copy of The Joy of Sex, and the first position he tries throws out his back. Then Katie's sister Sally arrives with word of a modern marriage contract, and the Binghams decide to try again under a looser agreement of their own.
