Brooke Smith
Biography
American actress, photographer and author Brooke Smith became known for playing Catherine Martin in The Silence of the Lambs (1991) and later Dr. Erica Hahn on Grey's Anatomy and Sheriff Jane Greene on Bates Motel. Born in New York City, she grew up in Rockland County and was part of the Manhattan hardcore punk scene in the 1980s. She appeared in several films, including The Moderns (1988), Vanya on 42nd Street (1994), Random Hearts (1999), In Her Shoes (2005) and The Namesake (2006). On television, she guest starred on Crossing Jordan, played an art teacher to Claire Fisher on Six Feet Under, and appeared on Weeds, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Criminal Minds and The Good Doctor. She also began a recurring role on Big Sky in 2020 and published a 2022 photography book of her hardcore punk scene photographs.
