Plot summary
CIA officer Kevin Pope poses as an antiquities dealer named Michael Turner. He is killed while trying to recover a stolen suitcase bomb. The agency finds that he had a twin brother, Jake Hayes, and that the two were separated as babies. Jake scrapes by in Jersey City, hustling chess games and scalping tickets at small clubs. His girlfriend, Julie, wants him to settle down and intends to move to Seattle. The agency recruits Jake to finish Kevin's work and asks the veteran agent Gaylord Oakes to train him.
