Biography
Andy Nyman is an English actor, writer, director, singer and magician. Born in Leicester in 1966, he got his first notable screen role in 2000 as Keith Whitehead in Dead Babies, then appeared in the 2001 film Uprising. He had a lead in Frank Oz's Death at a Funeral (2007) and appeared in the horror comedy Severance (2006), and he won best actor at the Cherbourg-Octeville Festival for Shut Up and Shoot Me. Much of his work has been with illusionist Derren Brown: he co-created and co-wrote television shows including Mind Control and Trick of the Mind, and co-wrote and co-directed Brown's stage productions. Their Something Wicked This Way Comes earned the 2006 Olivier Award for Best Entertainment. Nyman also co-created the stage horror show Ghost Stories, adapted as Ghost Stories (2018), and he has been nominated for Olivier Awards for West End appearances in The Producers, Fiddler on the Roof and Hello, Dolly!
