Plot summary
Shaun the sheep lives at Mossy Bottom Farm with his flock, where every day follows the same routine. Wanting a break, he tricks the Farmer into counting sheep until he dozes off again, but the caravan the Farmer sleeps in rolls away and carries him to a city. Bitzer, the farm dog, sets off after him. The flock cannot manage without the Farmer, so Shaun boards a bus to the city and the rest follow on another bus, dressing as people to search for him, while Trumper, an animal control worker, gives chase.

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Directors Mark Burton and Richard Starzak found it so hard to write an entire feature with no dialogue that they drew up contingency plans, including adding a speaking human character or a character who sang the story.
- The silence of the television shorts was a practical decision made because the team had limited resources, and Richard Starzak kept the film wordless because he remembered disliking the voice changes made to cartoons he watched growing up.
