Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- John Wayne and Katharine Hepburn were born two weeks apart in May 1907 and their careers ran side by side for decades, yet this was the only film in which the two ever appeared together.
- It was the last film Hal B. Wallis ever produced. True Grit had been a Paramount picture, but for the sequel Wallis made his financing deal with Universal instead.
- A piece of the production still stands in Oregon: the building at the entrance to Smith Rock State Park that now houses the Rockhard/Smith Rock Climbing Guides was put up as the set for Kate's Saloon.
