Jon Lormer

Jon Lormer was an American actor who appeared in television, film, and theater, and he died in 1986. Born in Canton in 1906, he worked in New York City theater as both an actor and a director and also appeared in stage productions that toured the United States. On television he made guest appearances on dozens of series, often playing different characters on the same show. He took three roles in the original Star Trek, including Dr. Theodore Haskins in The Menagerie (1966), and had a recurring part as postman Silas Huff on Lassie during the 1953 to 1954 seasons. He also appeared repeatedly on Perry Mason and Peyton Place and in four episodes of The Twilight Zone. His film credits include The Learning Tree (1969), Getting Straight (1970), Rooster Cogburn (1975), The Boogens (1981), and Creepshow (1982), in which he played Nathan Grantham.
