Plot summary
Rick Richards loses his job as an airline pilot and the major carriers blacklist him for chasing the women on their staff. He goes home to Hawaii, where his friend Danny Kohana joins him in starting a helicopter charter service. Rick does the flying and charms women on the islands, and Judy Hudson, known as Friday, is secretary to the two men. Rick's flirting keeps him and Judy from getting together, and his reckless flying and his careless flirting with local women could cost him the business and cost Danny his home.

- Major scenes in both Blue Hawaii and Paradise, Hawaiian Style were shot on the island of Kauaʻi, where the Coco Palms Resort was prominently featured. The resort was destroyed by Hurricane Iniki in 1992 and never rebuilt.
- Elvis Presley's deal gave him a million-dollar salary plus half the profits on each film; on Paradise, Hawaiian Style that profit share came to $1.25 million, and he made $2.25 million from the film.
