About the name
Hill's billing changed from Marianna to Mariana beginning in 1970, a spelling she said was not her choice and possibly came from Spain, where El Condor was filmed.
A change of course
Hill moved to New York to teach at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. In 1988 she went to England, teaching at the Lee Strasberg Studio in London until it closed in 2001.
A change of course
Hill kept teaching at London's Method Studio and appeared in the 2005 British film Coma Girl: The State of Grace. One of her students knew the film's writer and director, Dina Jacobsen, which is how she landed the part.
