Soon-Tek Oh
Biography
Soon-Tek Oh was a Korean-American actor who provided the voice of Fa Zhou in Mulan (1998) and Mulan II (2004) and played Colonel Yin in Missing in Action 2: The Beginning (1985). Born in Mokpo in 1932, he attended the University of Southern California and later earned an MFA from UCLA. His stage work included the original Broadway cast of Stephen Sondheim's Pacific Overtures, and he was an early member of the Asian American theater group East West Players. He also started the Society of Heritage Performers, a Korean American theater group that later became the Lodestone Theatre Ensemble, and from 2005 he taught at the Seoul Institute of the Arts. His screen credits included The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), The Final Countdown (1980), and television series such as Hawaii Five-O, MacGyver, and Stargate SG-1. In 2008, the San Diego Asian Film Festival gave him a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Behind the camera
Soon-Tek Oh joined East West Players, an Asian American theater group started in 1965, early on. In 1995 he started the Korean American theater group Society of Heritage Performers, which later became the Lodestone Theatre Ensemble.
A change of course
Starting in 2005, Soon-Tek Oh held a professorship at the Seoul Institute of the Arts, where he was a professor.
