Plot summary
Mack grew up in her grandmother's care, more at ease with adults than with children her own age, and at thirty she still stumbles in conversation with people her own age. She reluctantly agrees to Carla's Palm Springs bachelorette trip, leaving her dog Cheese with her neighbor Jack, a man she has trouble talking to. On the first day, a pop-up tent's proprietor, Luca, has her lie in what looks like an old tanning bed and say who she wants to be. Telling him she wants to be free of the burdens of being young, she steps out a seventy-year-old woman. Carla does not recognize her, and Mack calms her by repeating secrets only the two of them share.

- With a limited budget and the pandemic still ongoing, the script had to be changed during shooting: a Coachella sequence was cut because the festival itself was canceled, shooting days were combined, and the actors had no chemistry tests before filming.
- The film fell apart when the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, and was revived that October when producer Alex Saks told director Katie Aselton she had secured about $500,000 in funding.
