Plot summary
Bailey lives on a Michigan farm with Ethan, Ethan's wife Hannah, and C.J.'s mother Gloria, who is raising her toddler daughter in the house. When Gloria moves out and takes C.J. with her, Ethan learns that Bailey has a tumor, and before the dog dies he asks him to look after C.J. in his next life. Bailey wakes again as Molly, a beagle in an animal shelter, and recognizes C.J. at the adoption event with her best friend Trent and his family. C.J. brings Molly to the apartment she shares with Gloria and keeps the dog hidden from her mother, and the two become close as C.J. and Trent grow up.
