Plot summary

In a near future society that leans on technology, Katherine Mills, a cyborg employed by Harbinger Corporation, spots a reprogramming anomaly in a warfare A.I. system kept at Harbinger I, an island used for undisclosed military training. She joins Captain Damien Bukes and his team, Drifter, Robinson, Cutbill, Goodwin, Hackett and Loftus, who are assigned to a two-day exercise there against A.I. threats. The soldiers arrive to find global communications disabled and surveillance drones tracking them, with only local access available. They clear the first wave of drones from a vantage point, and Mills comes across an advanced S.A.R. unit, S.A.R.-003, that she cannot access.
