Plot summary

At an atoll, a great white shark with three heads wipes out a beach party of teenagers; only Mark, who was on a buoy, survives. The shark then hits the Persephone, an undersea facility built to study the Pacific Garbage Patch, and the station blows apart. Also alive are two scientists, Ted Nelson and Laura Thomas, and the activists who were touring the station: Greg, Ryan Bennett, Alison, Omar, and Maggie Peterson, who had applied for work there and is Greg's former girlfriend. As the island floods, the group swims to the activists' boat, and the shark trails them as they drive away. Ryan gets fisherman Max Burns on the radio; Burns doubts the story but agrees to help.
